We are currently in Beta testing. There may be some bugs and glitches with the browser, but we are working hard to catch them all. We appreciate your feedback to help us improve our browser. We take no responsibility for any issues it may cause.
This is the privacy policy of Ouroboros Browser, ("Ouroboros). The statement applies to the Ouroboros website, services and browser software.
Users of our software browser and services are anonymous to us and we have no feasible ways to identify you. However, certain groups of data may be collected while using our browser and services. The exact groups of data we collect, why we collect it, and your opt-out choices depend on the application or service you use, as is more fully described below.
Ouroboros Browser will automatically check with us for updated versions. This ensures that you have access to the latest security fixes and upgrades. We count the number and type of these requests when we receive them to produce aggregate statistics. We do not detect or record any particular person’s information in the statistics we collect. Downloading and installing Ouroboros browser means you agree to give us administrator permissions to help protect you from big data.
You can switch on Sync for your bookmarks. We will be adding a sync for passwords and other data in the future. This information will be saved in an encrypted file on a cloud storage service, to which you will have the only decryption key. The data is not accessible to Ouroboros or to the cloud storage provider.
We do not ask you to sign-up an account with Ouroboros. If you email our support team, we will have your email address. However, your email address will only be used for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. It will not be used for any other purpose.
When you install the Ouroboros browser, a random installation ID is generated. We may collect this identifier, as well as your device ID and hardware specification, Ouroboros system and environment configuration, and feature usage data.
We use this information for business purposes, such as:
To understand better how people interact with our browser and services;
To enhance, modify, customize or otherwise improve our browser and services;
To determine the effectiveness of promotional campaigns and advertising;
To detect, debug and fix crashes in our browser and services;
To prevent security breaches and abuse.
In short, this information helps us to improve our products and services. We have no practical way to use this information to identify you personally.
If the Ouroboros browser crashes, we collect a log that includes some information about your browser's version, your Ouroboros system, platform and some memory data related to the crash. We collect this data with the sole purpose of improving our products and services.

Feature-specific data points
Default search engines. When visiting some search engine websites, the website may query if it is set as the default search engine in the browser's settings, and suggest to set itself as the default search engine.
We use cookies on our websites for session management and retaining your settings or preferences. For instance, we can use your IP-address to detect your country and language you might prefer. This is possible because the IP-address reveals which country you are connecting from. If you chose another language manually, we use a cookie to store that preference. This can be relevant for instance if you travel abroad, and access through an IP-address in a country with a language other than the one you prefer.
You may receive ads in the form of notifications and in-browser sponsored content. The categories of ads that you see and when you see them are inferred from your browsing activity. We will receive anonymized confirmations for ads that you have viewed, but no data that identifies you or that can be linked to you are stored. The Omni bar search will go to the search provider that you choose or we will automatically assign it.
In the cases where we collect high-level statistics relating to web activity, we use privacy mechanisms like local differential privacy that guarantee that no information about individual users will ever be revealed to us.
If you visit a website through the Ouroboros Browser and the website wants to determine your location, you will be asked whether you want it to be allowed to or not. If you click ‘Yes’ to this message, then the website will be sent an approximation of where you are based on your IP address. Your IP address will then be stored by the website you have visited.
We may also use cookies for the purpose of statistics and measurement of marketing campaigns. We generate statistics about the total number of visitors to our websites, what pages are visited most, where the user is coming from, and at what time the webpages are visited the most. This is possible by establishing a unique Analytics ID for your device, the first time you visit our pages. This information can also be used for marketing campaigns.
The Browser sends us anonymous reports to alert us to product problems and necessary improvements. The report information does not harm your privacy. The report only describes general use of the browser, such as an approximation of how many extensions are installed, an approximation of how many tabs are open, and whether you have any of Ouroboros’ features turned on.
These reports are stripped of metadata, and aggregated with measurements reported by many other instances of Ouroboros. The data is not personal, and cannot be combined to identify you.
There are some third-party cookies on our websites. For your overview, we list categories below.

Therefore, and as provided in our Terms of Service, we require children to include their parents in the download process, and we encourage parents to read this privacy policy before allowing their children to use our browser and services.
Our browser and services include third-party technology or code, some of which may use your data in different ways. When such third-party technologies use previously collected data, they typically act as data processors for us. When they collect data on their own, they typically act as independent data controllers
